The NFB 2001 Everest Expedition was documented in a 75 minute program called Farther Than the Eye Can See. Shot in High Definition video, the program has won many national and international awards. The goal of the program is to take viewers on an emotional journey to the top of the highest mountain on earth, alongside an integrated team of experienced climbers including blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer. Erik's story play's out as the team works its way to the summit, culminating in a triumph at the top of the world. The film is put together by a team of experienced adventure filmmakers. Executive Producer Les Guthman of Outside Television and Producers Josh Colover and Chris Blum of . Michael Brown of Serac Adventure Films is the Director and climbing cameraman and was supported by veteran mountaineer Charlie Mace and producer Kim Johnson stationed in base camp. |
